Ashlyn & Nicholas
Ashlyn was inspired by her gorgeous wedding gown for her invitations. We matched the subtle shade of gold from her dress to a light gold invitation, then gave it a very fall feel with a darker gold and navy ink and mat for an elegant French-inspired look.
How did you and your husband meet?
We met on a blind date and went to the movies. We did a favor for friends who didn't want to go on a date alone, it's funny how things work out!
What was your vision for your wedding day?
French Country - golds and fall colors. I'll also admit there may have been an underlying Beauty and the Beast theme going. Very subtle - "gold" dress, gold candle sticks, roses on the invitations. I didn't plan it, but I got several comments/compliments about it.
How did Fanciful Ink create invitations expressing that vision for you?
I wanted a more elegant invitation that had a French feel. We were getting married on a farm, but I didn't want to do the typical country chic theme.
Was there anything special you incorporated in your wedding?
He wore his military uniform. I also loved our guest book, it was library cards that are in the back of books.
What was your best planning tool?
My notebook with pockets. I glued and stuffed everything in that and took a ton of notes.
What advice would you give other brides?
Don't get too caught up in the details. Something will go wrong, if you don't plan every second the small things will not bother you the day of. I was not stressed or worried about anything. Everyone working for you will make sure it's the best day.
